Student Experience

The University has a positive policy of inviting student feedback and comment. This is wrapped up in
the title ‘Student Experience’. Each school has a student experience ‘champion’. In Creative Arts it’s
Linda Shortt.
As Associate Head of School for Student Experience, Linda works with student representatives
and the Student Representative Officer ensuring the satisfaction and wellbeing of students within
the School. Don’t hesitate to contact Linda or your student reps if you have ideas to improve your
experience on your course or at the University of Hertfordshire.

Media Business Hand-in

I was just reading over our project to find out about the hand in. It is by 1pm on Thursday Jauary 12th to Brenda Costigan in Reception (I’m guessing the yellow door!)

First Day back after Christmas

Our first class back on January 10, 2012 will be the hand-in day for all students’ projects and logbooks.

Please note, any students that did not attend either of the critiques to present their COMPLETED projects (‘Suite of Portraits’ or ‘Appropriation’) – it is very important you attend, and present your work.

I will be discussing the work and providing verbal feedback at that time.

Any projects that are not handed in by 4:00 PM on January 10, 2012, will not be counted toward your final assessment mark.

Please get in touch if you have any questions: d.axelbank@herts.ac.uk

Have a good holiday!

New Loan Store Opening Times

The loan store is now open for a much longer period of time during the day.

Message from David regarding Appropriation hand-in

Dear All,

Several students have asked me for clarification on what is required for the critique on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. During the critique students will be expected to formally present their images for the Appropriation project.

All students will be expected to contribute actively to the critique discussions.

Logbooks for the module (along with your prints for both assignments) are to be handed in at the end of the term (January 10, 2012 no later than 10:00 AM).

The assessment for the module will take place the following week.

If you have any questions, please contact me: d.axelbank@herts.ac.uk

Thank you!

Feedback from Rebecca

“When we get your feedback good and bad of course, we are always happy to help.

The photography stores will now be open all day and there will be more staff to check equipment.

James Cannon is now a full time photography technician, that means he is around more.

You have had many lectures and 1-1s in semester A. I’m sure the development of your ideas are sound. There will more photography skills and hands on activities in semester B.

Good luck with your deadline on Tuesday

Rebecca”

Lockers

I went to a meeting today about resources and I was asked to ask you about the lockers.
It is being proposed that a quater of the number of lockers in the Creative arts building will be removed (anyone that has one it will be kept) leaving 450 lockers left.
So I have been asked to ask everyone whether they feel they need lockers maybe moved? If it’s possible to have them down in the Darkroom area would people be interested in that or do you feel they would not be missed.

Please let me know 🙂
